In these terms, "we" and "us" mean PIES IT Solutions. "You" means the person using the service. By creating an account or using capstoneuml.com, you agree to these terms.
What the service does
Capstone UML generates UML diagrams from structured input you provide. You pick a system type, adjust the entities and relationships, and export the result as an image or document for use in your own work.
We support Class, Use Case, ER, Data Flow, Activity and Sequence diagrams. We add diagram types and templates over time, and we may change or remove features as the product develops.
Your account
You need an account to save diagrams. You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live. If you are under 18, you may use Capstone UML with the involvement of a parent, guardian or your school.
One account is for one person. Sharing a paid account across a class or a group is not permitted.
Free and paid plans
The free plan lets you create 3 diagrams per calendar week, using the free template, exported as a watermarked PNG.
The paid plan costs PHP 199 per month or PHP 1,999 per year. It removes the weekly limit and the watermark, unlocks every template, and enables PDF, PowerPoint and SVG export.
Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your billing page, and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.
We may change prices. If we do, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before the change affects your renewal, and you can cancel before then if you do not want to continue.
Who owns what you create
You own your diagrams. The entities, relationships and labels you enter are yours, and so are the files you export. We claim no ownership over them.
You may use exported diagrams for any purpose, including academic submission, commercial work and client documentation. You do not need to credit us, although we appreciate it when you do.
We do not sell, publish or share the diagrams you create. We access their contents only when you ask us for support, or where we are required to by law.
We own the software, the templates, the interface and the Capstone UML name. Your subscription is a licence to use the service, not a transfer of ownership in it.
Academic honesty
Capstone UML is a drawing tool. It renders the structure you give it, in the notation your panel expects. It does not design your system for you, and it does not write your documentation.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your own work and for following your institution's rules on the use of software tools. If your school requires you to disclose the tools you used, disclose this one.
What you may not do
- Resell, sublicense or redistribute access to the service, including sharing a paid account.
- Resell our templates as your own product or template pack.
- Attempt to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service.
- Use the service to create content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Use automated means to create accounts or generate diagrams in bulk without our written agreement.
If you do any of these, we may suspend or close your account. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.
Availability
We aim to keep Capstone UML available and working, but we do not promise it will never be down. We may take it offline for maintenance, and parts of it depend on third parties such as our hosting and payment providers.
If the service is unavailable for a prolonged period and you are on a paid plan, contact us and we will deal with it fairly. Our Refund Policy explains what that means in practice.
Our liability
We provide Capstone UML as it is. We do not warrant that the diagrams it produces will be accepted by your panel, your adviser or your institution. Reviewing your own work before you submit it is your responsibility.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost marks, missed deadlines or lost business.
Nothing here limits any rights you have under Philippine consumer law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Ending your account
You can close your account at any time from your account settings. When you do, we delete or anonymise your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Export anything you want to keep before you close it.
We may close your account if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the service. If we stop offering the service, we will give you reasonable notice and refund any period you have paid for but not used.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Capstone UML after that means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Disputes will be handled by the courts of Negros Occidental, Philippines, without affecting any right you have to bring a complaint to a consumer protection authority where you live.
